Expansion of C&C's Geoscience Team

Mar 2004 - Houston, Texas
C&C Reservoirs welcomes Dr John Anderson, Dr Jose Guzman, Mr Richard Footitt and Dr Suvimol Maingarm as new members of its expanding geoscience team. These additional expertise to C&C Reservoirs will surely help meet the increased needs of our growing E&P clients worldwide in new product development and customer support services.

Dr John Anderson received his B.Sc. (1987) in Applied Geology from Plymouth University (UK) and his Ph.D. (1991) in Geology from Kingston University (UK). Having worked for AGIP UK Central North Sea and New Initiatives Groups (1991-1995) and Ranger Oil Angola and Cote D'Ivoire Teams (1996-2003), respectively, Dr. Anderson has extensive experience in exploration and appraisal, ranging from basin analysis, play evaluation, prospect generation, risk/reserve assessment, to appraisal well drilling proposal. Dr. Anderson joined C&C Reservoirs in 2003 as a Senior Geoscientist responsible for compilation of new field evaluation reports and updating of existing fields.

Dr Guzman received his Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999; his M.S. in Ciencias Geologicas from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1992; and his B.A. in Geology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1980. He has over 20 years of experience in research and application of clastic stratigraphy and sedimentology, reservoir geology, and advanced subsurface geology in the Eastern and Maracaibo Basins of Venezuela. This has been gained through working for Lagoven S.A., Gemipet C.A., PDVSA Intevep and the Bureau of Economic Geology at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Guzman joined C&C Reservoirs as a Senior Geoscientist, where, undoubtedly, Dr Guzman's knowledge of S. American petroleum geology is a great asset to C&C Reservoirs team.

Mr. Richard (Dick) Footitt received his B.Sc. (1975) in Geology from London University, UK. He joined Robertson Research International in 1979 and has worked as an international consultant in the oil and gas industry for over 23 years. Mr. Footitt has extensive experience in field and prospect evaluations as well as petroleum basin evaluation. He has been heavily involved in reserve assessment of assets of over 20 UK and US companies, including over 60 UK and Dutch fields. On the exploration side, he has travelled extensively and contributed to evaluation studies of Ghadames and Sbaa basins, Algeria; Taylorsville Basin, USA; Meleiha Concession, Western Desert, Egypt; Iran; Syria; Black Sea, Ukraine; Sea of Okhotsk, Russia; Vietnam-Indonesia offshore disputed zone; offshore Brazil; Ucayali Basin, Peru; Irish Rockall as well as North Sea. Mr. Footitt is the co-author and joint-presenter of a training course entitled 'Basin Analysis and Play Fairway Definition'. He has also acted as the Technical Advisor to the Polish Bureau of Concessions, National Power, H.M. Health and Safety Executive and British Nuclear Fuels. Mr. Footitt joined C&C Reservoirs in 2003 as a Senior Geoscientist responsible for compilation of new field evaluation reports and updating of existing fields.

Dr Maingarm received her B.Sc. (1993) in Geology from the University College, London and M.Sc. (1994) in Applied Structural Geology and Rock Mechanics from Imperial College, London. In 2000, she was granted her Ph.D. from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth for her work on the structural and tectono-stratigraphic evolution of the Central Irish Sea Basin. The study was in an active exploration area of BG Group and the project formed a part of the initial stages of delineating the basin structure and evolution history. Since then she has worked briefly for Robertson Research International Ltd as a Processing Geophysicist within the Land Processing Department, where she was mainly involved in processing Middle-Eastern data. Before joining C&C Reservoirs, she worked for PGS Reservoirs (UK) Ltd as a Geophysicist. At PGS she formed a part of the original 'Mega-Merge' team, which aims to merge and interpret 3D seismic data in basins around the world. Dr Maingarm joined C&C Reservoirs in 2003 as a Customer Support Geoscientist, initially based in the Beijing office but since 2004, has been supporting C&C Reservoirs' customers in Houston.
